The chair is an exhibition piece created for the Stockholm furniture fair and functions as a starting point for a discussion surrounding deforestation and not only about the Amazon rainforest. This huge problem is rising rapidly, mainly because of political ignorance behind deforestation where the most important aspect is money. A chair represents power throughout the ages. The burned wood slowly rising upwards absorbs the whole construction, symbolises the outbreak of forest fires.

The chair is designed to be comfortable for the user but is unaware of the serious consequences behind deforestation shown through the burned wood texture, affecting the whole construction. Cow leather represents the beef industry in Brazil, the largest in the world, which is the main reason behind deforestation. Will we realise that our actions will lead to the gradual extinction of everything on the planet, including us as the human species? Who should be invited to take a seat?
